We are currently holding 4-day online auctions. Our auctions start on a Thursday at 10am and end on Sunday at 8pm. You will receive notification by email if you have been outbid, and you will then have the opportunity to place further bids up until the end of the auction.
Buyer’s premium
A buyer’s commission of 17% plus VAT (on the commission only, not the hammer price) is payable on the hammer price of lots purchased.
Absentee / commission bids
We are happy to accept commission bids if you are unable to bid online. If you contact us directly, we will enter the bids for you and email confirmation that they have been put on for you. If you haven’t bought with us before, we will need to register you first, but give us a call or email and we will be happy to chat through the process with you.
Lots may have a reserve price, which is the confidential minimum selling price previously agreed with the seller. If the bidding fails to reach this price the lot will remain unsold. Before bidding we strongly recommend that you take time to read our Conditions of Sale.
Viewing
- Thursday 11.00am to 6pm
- Friday 10.00am to 6pm
- Saturday 1.30pm to 4pm
Printed catalogues are offered for sale on viewing days at a cost of £2.
Condition reports
Please remember that the condition of an item is not always mentioned in the catalogue description and we therefore strongly recommend that if you are unable to view items in person you obtain a condition report.
Specific interests?
Receive email alerts when we have items that match your interests by simply giving us your email address and a keyword. This can be something general such as ‘stamps’ or ‘books’ or something more specific such as ‘Lalique’ or ‘Cartier’.
After the auction
If you have been successful with any of your bids you will receive an invoice by email which can be paid online using our 3D Secure payment facility. Payments are required to be made within 3 days of the auction. If you are paying on collection we accept debit card, credit card and cash. We do not accept payment by cheque.
Collection
All items should be paid for and collected within 3 days of the auction. Any items not collected within 3 days of the auction will incur a storage charge of £5 per day per lot unless by prior arrangement. Kent Auction Galleries Ltd accepts no liability if condition differs from that stated at the time of purchase if items are not collected within this time.
